Introducing the Road King®

The Road King® is a classic Harley-Davidson® touring machine that exudes old-school cool but which takes advantage of the latest in technologies and refinement. What separates the Road King® from many other tourers in the Harley-Davidson® lineup is that it does not have a fairing. A comparison point for many H-D® motorcycles is whether they have the sharknose fairing, which is frame mounted, or the batwing fairing, which is fork mounted. The Road King® has neither, and if you’re not sure what that means to you, then we highly recommend a test ride near Brooksville where you can experience the Road King® firsthand and perhaps comparing it against models with a fairing, such as the Road Glide and Street Glide.

What About the Road King® Special

The standard Road King® is a stripped-down bagger. The Road King® Special, on the other hand, is a custom bagger. That means that it comes direct from the factory with some premium upgrades. There are two other points to consider. The Special comes standard with a bigger engine. That means more performance out of the box but also more headroom if you choose to install an upgrade kit. What Are the Updates for 2022

Outside of the new models, Harley-Davidson® did not make many changes to the individual models. It instead focused on the Grand American Touring family as a whole and made updates to the underlying platform. That includes electronic dynamically linked Brembo brakes. This system automatically distributes braking power in order to keep you in control and provide a safer riding experience, and this upgrade is standard on the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Road King® near Brooksville as well.

Ride Characteristics & Performance

The Road King® is based on Harley-Davidson®’s touring chassis. It has a tall windshield and a Hiawatha headlamp. It puts the rider in an upright position. It also has a passenger seat and floorboards. It features stretched saddlebags but not a Tour-Pak and passenger backrest, which you could add. Advanced rider assists are available, and the Road King® does not have an infotainment system.

This Is the Right Bike For

The Road King® is one of those touring machines that works just as well cruising around town as it does burning up miles and crossing state lines. The fairingless design is an important characteristic, and if you’re unsure of your preference, you should definitely test ride the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Road King®. It’s also important to note that the Road King® is for the touring enthusiasts who like to disconnect as it does not have an infotainment system and won’t provide you easy access to your phone.

All models have a chrome look. There are three color schemes two choose from.
