Riding Academy Policy for Refunds & Rescheduling

Refunds for the Riding Academy Course Fee and changes to scheduled course dates are uncommon and are approved solely at the discretion of Harley-Davidson of New Port Richey management. A student’s request for a fee refund (class cancellation) must be submitted at least 7 days prior to their scheduled class start date and will only be approved by the Riding Academy Manager. All refunds will be processed in accordance with the Harley-Davidson of New Port Richey refund policy. Requests to change class dates will typically be accommodated based on circumstances if the request is made at least 7 days in advance of the scheduled class. All schedule changes must be approved by the Riding Academy Manager.

Students who “No Show” for any portion of a scheduled class may forfeit their class fee.

Students who fail to complete the required MSF eCourse before the first riding exercise may be immediately disenrolled, with their class fee forfeited.

Students without a valid driver’s license or appropriate learner’s permit at the start of class (Day 1 of 3) may be disenrolled immediately, and their class fee forfeited.

Students who arrive late for any portion of Range or Classroom Training may be immediately disenrolled, and their class fee forfeited.

Students who attend Riding Training (Range) without the prescribed riding gear may be disenrolled, and their class fee forfeited.

New Riders who were unsuccessful in their initial course are offered the opportunity to return for training at no additional expense. However, New Riders who fail to attend on their agreed “Re-Ride” date may forfeit their free follow-up training and certification opportunity. Riders must successfully pass the Written Test and Skills Evaluation within 60 days of the course start date. Failure to do so may require re-enrollment with payment of a new course fee.

The decision to forfeit course fees will be based on the presented circumstances and rests solely with the Riding Academy Manager.

This refund and class date rescheduling policy is designed to maximize class participation (12 students per class) to ensure that aspiring New Riders have the opportunity to attend the New Rider Course.

eCourse Completion Policy:

For the New Rider Course (e3x5x10) at Harley-Davidson of New Port Richey, eCourse certificates are only valid if earned within 30 days of the New Rider Course start date. The Harley-Davidson of New Port Richey policy requires that each Rider completes the eCourse prior to participating in Riding Training (Day 1). However, under certain circumstances (e.g., day-of-class sign-ups or walk-ins), an exception to this policy may be warranted. Any exceptions will only be considered and approved by the Riding Academy Manager.

If an exception is approved, the participant must complete the MSF Basic eCourse between or after formal instruction, within five days of class completion. If the eCourse is not completed within 5 days, the student will be required to retake the New Rider Course at their own expense. No course completion or MSF completion cards/jurisdictional documents will be issued until proof of MSF Basic eCourse completion is provided to the Riding Academy Manager, and only if all skills evaluation and knowledge test standards have been met.

Alternatively, participants may opt to complete a home study assignment by providing written answers to the 175 questions in the Rider Handbook. The Rider Handbook can be purchased online at the participant’s expense.

The eCourse policy is written to ensure Harley-Davidson of New Port Richey Riding Academy compliance with Motorcycle Safety Foundation course completion standards as well as course scheduling.
