Introducing the Nightster™
The much-anticipated Nightster™ is finally here, and you can see it in person and test-ride the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Nightster™ in New Port Richey at our location. This is an all-new motorcycle from Harley-Davidson® and an addition to the Sportster family but one based on the Revolution Max platform. It still looks and feels like the iconic Sportsters of the past: a peanut-shaped fuel tank, a round air intake cover, chopped fenders and dual rear shocks. Upon closer inspection, however, there are some rather big differences. The fuel tank, for instance, is not a fuel tank at all but rather an airbox cover. The actual fuel tank is located beneath the seat. The Revolution Max engine is liquid cooled. It has the “T” designation, which means it’s tuned for torque, and the bike also has a slip-assist mechanical wet clutch.
Ride Characteristics
Despite some rather big fundamental differences, H-D® wanted to ensure that the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Nightster™ looked and felt and sounded like a Sportster. The Nightster™ has a low profile and mid-mount foot controls and provides a forward riding position. It has a screen. Rider safety enhancements are available. Harley-Davidson® has also launched the vehicle with numerous accessories through which you can personalize the Nightster™. H-D® markets the Nightster™ as the perfect motorcycle for riders who are fans of the classic Sportster silhouette but want the Revolution Max engine and other advanced features. This is a quick and nimble motorcycle with razor-sharp handling, and H-D® is confident that its fans will appreciate the heritage and feel being delivered in an understated package.
Performance
The 2022 Harley-Davidson® Nightster™ in New Port Richey is powered by the Revolution Max 975T engine. As mentioned earlier, the “T” designation indicates that this liquid-cooled engine is tuned for torque. The goal is to deliver substantial torque at a low RPM along with strong acceleration from the start and strong power through the mid-range. This engine makes 90 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 70 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. The Nightster™ also features a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel.
Optional Rider Safety Enhancements
When riders in and near Homosassa Crystal River Spring Hill and the surrounding areas purchase their 2022 Harley-Davidson® Nightster™, they have the option of Rider Safety Enhancements. RSE is designed to adjust vehicle performance dynamically and on the fly based on available traction when accelerating, decelerating and braking. If you are unsure whether you want these features, the team at Harley-Davidson® of New Port Richey recommends test-riding one Nightster™ with and another without. This is because RSE is only available at the time of purchase and cannot be added after the fact.
Personalization Options
Customizing your motorcycle is an important aspect of the Sportster legacy, and Harley-Davidson® ensured that there would be a wide range of accessories available at the same time the Nightster™ launched. This includes the Adversary Collection, which features a black and orange color scheme. Other options include a Reach handlebar, a Reach seat and forward controls.
