Grand America Touring
Grand America Touring is the name of the Harley-Davidson® family dedicated to long-distance touring. This is a style of motorcycle that appeals to a wide audience, and so the brand offers many different models along with many ways to personalize the model you choose. Your options range from stripped-down tourers to full-dress baggers, and the 2022 Harley-Davidson® CVO™ Street Glide® near Homosassa is certainly more toward the latter end of that range than the former.
Street Glide®
There are multiple Grand American Touring motorcycles with the Street Glide® name, and what differentiates them from the Road Glide motorcycles is that they have the shark-nosed or fork-mounted fairing and they tend to be lighter than their counterparts. Your four main options within the Street Glide® sub-family are the Street Glide®, Street Glide® Special, Street Glide® ST and CVO™ Street Glide®. These bikes are all fundamentally similar, but the base Street Glide® has the Milwaukee-Eight® 107 and tends to be a bit more minimalist in order to be more affordable or provide a better base for a custom job. The Street Glide® Special has the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 and is more accessorized. ST stands for Sport Touring. It is equipped more like the base model but has a blacked-out aesthetic and boasts the Milwaukee-Eight® 117.
CVO™ Street Glide®
The 2022 Harley-Davidson® CVO™ Street Glide® near Homosassa gives you the best of both worlds. It has everything the Special has and everything the ST has and then some. It also comes with a custom appearance package direct from the factory, and you have three options to choose from. The Hightail Yellow Pearl options pairs yellow and black and accents it with chrome. The Envious Green Fade option has a blacked-out aesthetic, and the green color fades into it to create the appearance of black flames. The Blue Steel options pairs a dark, rich blue color with a carbon-look metallic aesthetic.
Performance and Ride Characteristics
As mentioned, the CVO™ Street Glide® has the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 V-Twin engine, which is the most powerful air- and oil-cooled engine that Harley-Davidson® makes. If you want even more power, there are Screamin’ Eagle stage kits available. Notable ride characteristics include an upright riding position, a passenger seat, floorboards for both the rider and passenger and stretched saddlebags. An infotainment system is standard, and rider safety enhancements are available. The bike also comes standard with Stage II Harley-Davidson® audio powered by Rockford Fosgate.
Customization
The biggest choice you’ll make on the personalization front is which of three aesthetics you want, and while this is a CVO™, there are other customization options available through the H-D® catalog. One of the most popular is the King Tour-Pak, which is available in the style of your choice and adds more storage space while also providing more robust seating for the passenger.
