Harley-Davidson® Street Glide®
The Street Glide® is one of the most popular touring motorcycles in America and a top-seller at Harley-Davidson® of New Port Richey. The other popular tourer in the H-D® lineup is the Road Glide, and the main difference is that the Street Glide® has a fork-mounted fairing whereas the Road Glide has a frame-mounted fairing. The Street Glide® is designed to be versatile and comfortable over long distances, but it is also designed to be fun and comfortable if you just want to ride it around town. That balance is certainly a key aspect of just how popular this motorcycle is. In addition to the standard Street Glide®, Harley-Davidson® offers the Street Glide® Special, which has a more robust standard equipment package.
Updates for 2022
With the Street Glide® being one of the most popular motorcycles in the H-D® lineup, it comes as little surprise that the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Street Glide® in New Port Richey was included in the initial wave. One of the biggest changes for the 2022 model is that Harley-Davidson® upgrade the bike with Reflex linked Brembo brakes. It has also added some new color options. The new Street Glide® Special arrives alongside the standard model. As with last year, both are available in a chrome or blacked-out finish, which can be paired with all of the color options available. The Special does have fancier wheels and comes with a touring pack in addition to the saddlebags that are standard with both models.
Performance
The standard model comes with the Milwaukee-Eight® 107 V-Twin engine. That should provide enough acceleration, torque and high-end speed for the average rider. But if you want additional power, then one of the best reasons to opt for the Special is that it has the Milwaukee-Eight® 114. You get more performance out of the box and more headroom should you opt for a stage kit. In both cases, characteristics include the batwing fairing, an upright riding position, floorboards, a passenger seat, an infotainment system, saddlebags and optional rider-assistance tech. If you are unsure whether the batwing or shark-nosed fairing is better for you, then we highly recommend a test-ride of both this model and the Road Glide.
